“If you’re going to overcommit, you best at least be committed to it.” ~~Jennifer Scott~~
If you know me well, you, I’m sure, will agree that I have a tendency to take on a lot all at once. I believe that I can do anything, and was recently reminded that while that’s very true, I can’t do *everything*. Yet, in the honor of Stress Awareness Month, I am committing to being overcommitted.
I am committed to taking on however much I take on and just getting it done.
I am committed to not being “stressed out” about the amount I take on.
I am committed to doing as much as I can, in the best way I can, and knowing that it is exactly as it’s supposed to be.
I am committed to achieving my goals, accomplishing my to-do’s, and being the greatest “me” I can be, in all my overcommitted glory.
I hope that I can inspire you to be as much as you can and want to be for yourself and everyone around you. And, just remember to breathe!

Attitude: Lessons From My Kitten
“I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed: and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I fail and keep trying.” ~~Tom Hopkins~~
Do you have pets? How about children? I think we could all learn something from them… Have you ever noticed how many times they will attempt something before giving up? It’s almost unbelievable.
We got kittens in January. The scenario goes something like this: He jumps up on the counter. I put him down. He jumps up on the counter. I put him down. He jumps up on the counter. I put him down. He follows me in to my office. He jumps up on my desk. I put him down. He jumps up on my desk. I put him down. He jumps up on my desk. I put him down. He goes to lie down on his cat bed next to my desk. It’s comical, but think about it. If we all had the perseverance of a kitten, we’d all be exactly where we want to be in our lives. Because believe me… as soon as I walk out of the room, that kitten is on my desk! Determination, persistence, and a positive attitude… a winning combination! Know you can, and you will.
Another thing I think we could all learn from our pets and/or our kids: it’s all about playing; everything’s a game, so you may as well have some fun.
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race” ~~Calvin Coolidge

Motivation: Today is the day
“You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.” ~~Alan Alda~~
Be proud of who you are, and honor who you believe you will become. Trust your instincts and let them guide you down the path of discovery. Do what you do with all your heart, and know that anything is possible. Rely on your network, get input from your friends and family, build your support system, and let them help you. Believe in yourself. Today is the day.

Focus (and Determination)

Focus, razor sharp determination, that’s the key to cutting through the huge pile that is my “to do” list today. I can, and I will remain focused, on task, and determined to accomplish all that I have set out in front of me. I am prepared. I have a plan. I will execute and I will prevail! And I am just as determined to have fun while I do it!! Today is a great day!

Preparation
"Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work." ~~Stephen King~~
Fall is definitely in the air here this morning. While it is supposed to up to a high of 72, it was 57 when we woke up. I love this weather. I find it invigorating. It’s also the beginning of a New Year according to the Hebrew Calendar, so I feel like (just like in January) it’s time to make a fresh start. We also had a personal family scare this weekend… which I am very happy to say seems to all be OK now… but definitely reminded me that life is both precious, and short. I woke up this morning with a determination I feel I’ve been missing for the last few weeks. It’s nice to be back on track. Preparation, Focus, Hard Work and Determination; I’m ready to conquer anything!
Whatever your reason; make a great new start!

Attitude
“[People] who never get carried away should be.” ~~Malcolm Forbes~~
I had the distinct pleasure of networking this morning with an entrepreneur extraordinaire. I don’t call her that because she’s “made it”. I call her that because she will! I’ve been witness to a transformation unlike many I have seen before. With more drive and determination to thrive than I have ever seen in one person, I have no doubt she and her new business will be a huge success. She is enthusiastic, gung-ho and working her tail off. Being “carried away” to higher heights is her new mission, and her enthusiasm is contagious. That’s one thing I love about networking with positive people!
“Attitudes are contagious. Are yours worth catching?” ~Dennis and Wendy Mannering

Goals
“It is never too late to be who you might have been.” ~~George Eliot~~
I have decided to work towards a new goal. Well, not entirely new. And, while I am certainly not changing my long term personal goals, or my business goals (at least not today), I am focusing on something different. I’m trying a new tactic, I guess. My “new” goal is to do and be my best. Simple, right? If I do my best all the time how can I not accomplish my other goals? If I am my best all the time, how can I not achieve success? I’ve struggled with this in the past because I felt like I had to define “my best”, but I came to the realization today that “my best” isn’t a constant. I’m evolving; learning more every day about who I am and what “my best” is. So, as of today, I am committed to “my best” and look forward to becoming who I am.

Tuesday: Focus (and determination)
“We must remember that one determined person can make a significant difference, and that a small group of determined people can change the course of history.” ~~Sonia Johnson~~
I am once again feeling inspired, empowered, revitalized and excited by the sheer determination and focus I witnessed today. There are some people out there doing some really great things, and these things are often thankless and random. Whether it’s sharing your network, assisting someone through a rough time, or otherwise giving of yourself in some way, how can you help someone today? It’s amazing how taking your focus off of yourself for a time can really help you actually get things done!

Thursday: Goals
"Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek." ~Mario Andretti
It is so much easier to stay focused and positive when you have goals set and you see yourself achieving them! Causing things to come to fruition is a powerful motivator!
When you’re “on a roll”, you roll faster!
