“The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice that which we are for what we could become.” ~~Charles DuBois~~
Every moment we’re awake can be a learning experience. I was reminded yesterday through a series of events, that even (and maybe “especially”) the most challenging of situations are fantastic opportunities for learning and practicing what we learn. I silently cheered as I noticed that what I DID was not at all what I normally do. I sacrificed a habit. I learned from my past, applied what I learned to my present, and noticed a significant difference in how people responded to me. It was a great experience. It did not at all change the challenging situation. But in changing how I responded, I took responsibility for how I felt about the situation, and THAT made all the difference in the world!
What behaviors or beliefs can you sacrifice to become a better you?

Goals
“It is never too late to be who you might have been.” ~~George Eliot~~
I have decided to work towards a new goal. Well, not entirely new. And, while I am certainly not changing my long term personal goals, or my business goals (at least not today), I am focusing on something different. I’m trying a new tactic, I guess. My “new” goal is to do and be my best. Simple, right? If I do my best all the time how can I not accomplish my other goals? If I am my best all the time, how can I not achieve success? I’ve struggled with this in the past because I felt like I had to define “my best”, but I came to the realization today that “my best” isn’t a constant. I’m evolving; learning more every day about who I am and what “my best” is. So, as of today, I am committed to “my best” and look forward to becoming who I am.

Friday: Motivation
“Life is not about discovering our talents; it is about pushing our talents to the limit and discovering our genius.” ~Robert Brault
I believe that we all have genius. I believe that we humans are capable of achieving unbelievable things, overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles and challenges, and truly shocking ourselves by what we can accomplish. And, I’m not just referring to the rocket scientists who launched us into outer space successfully, or the brain surgeons who have saved countless lives, or the emergency first responders who risk their lives every day for that of someone else. I’m talking about us; you and me. If we let ourselves, we can recognize our inner strength, acknowledge our inner beauty, and unlock our inner potential.
